Vive La Gastronomie with Michelin-star Chef Alexander Ioannou
After many successful editions of Vive La Gastronomie, we are very excited that this event will return on March 5th and 6th, 2021. Our Executive Chef René Klop invites Alexander Ioannou (Restaurant Sinne*) to collaborate by creating a unique gastronomic experience at our Sunset Deck. The evening will start at 06:00 PM with a glass of Champagne and 6 amuses while enjoying live music. The Chefs will then serve 5 surprising courses with wine pairing.

Announcement of new General Manager at Baoase Luxury Resort
We are pleased to announce that Mr. Thijs van der Valk, the son of Adrianus van der Valk, will follow in his brother-in-law’s and sister’s footsteps by taking over the position of General Manager of Baoase Exploitation Company, including the Directorship of the Flamingo Exploitatie Maatschappij, effective January 25th, 2021.
“After 7 years of successfully managing Baoase with commitment, passion and enthusiasm; we are very pleased to hand over the reins of the family business to Thijs van der Valk. Together with the Management team and staff, he will continue to build on the strong foundation Baoase already has”, -Oliver Zahn.
Throughout the years, Mr. Thijs Van der Valk has been working for numerous family-owned hospitality companies. He supported the Baoase Team as Assistant General Manager on various occasions prior to his appointment to General Manager. In addition to his professional experience, he completed the studies of International Hotel & Hospitality Management at the EuroCollege Rotterdam, The Netherlands, in 2012.

Baoase Crab Race 2021!
On January 1st, we organized the annual Baoase Crab Race! Our guests joined the competition hoping their crab would be the first to cross the finish line. With the help of our guests we raised a total of 9120 USD for the Ronald McDonald House of Charities Curaçao.
The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities Curaçao Foundation (RMHC) is to create, find and support local programs that directly improve the health and wellbeing of children and their families.
They can accomplish this through one of their core programs, the Ronald McDonald Family Room and also through alliances with other non-profit organizations who share their mission. With the help of our guests we were able to raise an amazing amount for the Ronald McDonald House of Charities Curaçao.
