Last Friday, Baoase Culinary Beach Restaurant set up an excellent event in collaboration with Wine Trader Servir Frais.
The evening started with 3 amuses and a refreshing aperitif of Francois Lurton “Léonce Extra Dry”, Vermouth & Francois Lurton “Sorgin” Sauvignon Blanc Gin.
The 5 courses that followed with 6 different wines from France, Italy and Portugal made the evening complete and magical.

We are looking forward to the next edition of this exclusive event upcoming September with The Wine Factory.

On Friday August 2^nd and Saturday August 3^rd  Sidney Schutte of restaurant Spectrum ** in Amsterdam took over the kitchen of Baoase Culinary Beach Restaurant.

August 2019, Willemstad – non-profit organization Coral Restoration Foundation Curacao (CRFC) have partnered with Baoase Luxury Resort to build a pop-up coral nursery at their resort.

CRFC currently maintains 50 coral trees across the island. These coral trees grow fragments of critically endangered coral species and once these fragments are mature enough, they are out planted to different sites around Curacao.  The out planted coral clusters not only improve the health of the reefs but also increase fish populations in the area.

Over the 3 year partnership with Baoase Luxury Resort, 240 corals will be hung on coral trees providing the optimum conditions for them to grow. As they grow and mature, these fragments will then be out planted and help restore the reef surrounding the resort. By the end of the partnership, 1500 corals with be out planted onto the reef.

“We are really excited to have another hotel involved with the work we’re doing” said Pol Bosch, CRFC Project Manager.  “It highlights to the public and other business owners on the island that the health of the oceans is everyone’s business”.

Support from like-minded companies allows CRFC to engage future generations with the health of the oceans and provide hope for restoring the reefs of Curacao.

About CRFC

Coral Restoration Foundation Curacao (CRFC) set-up in 2015 is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring the shallow water coral reef systems in Curacao and educating the community on the significance of the oceans.

They work with critically endangered species of corals, growing them in nurseries and out planting them onto new sites. These out planted corals are an integral part of reef structures, they improve the health of the reefs and increase fish populations and biodiversity in the area. To date CRFC has out planted over 6000 corals to 7 locations and engaged more than 100 students.

– Friday August 23rd  – Servir Frais

Servir Frais, located on the Caracasbaaiweg, is the “modern old school” wine importer on Curacao. We respect the ancient vigneron and embrace the winemaking techniques of the future! – Friday September 27th – The Wine Factory

If you visit the store on the Caracasbaaiweg you will soon discover that the Wine Factory Team consists of a dedicated bunch of nutty professors ready to tease and surprise your taste buds with the best wines from all over the world. Clients of the Wine Factory always get the opportunity to taste the wine before they buy it. This way satisfaction about your purchase is guaranteed until the last drop.

– Friday October 25th – Bottles

Bottles can be found at the Caracasbaaiweg, next to the church of Janwe and is the one-stop-shop for all your wines, spirits, soft drinks, beer and Nespresso. While tasting an unique wine or spirit or drinking a delicious cup of Nespresso Coffee in our store, you can find a wide range of spirits according to the newest trends and a fine selection of wines from the world’s best wineries.

All evenings will start with 3 amuses and champagne followed by a 5 course dinner with specially selected wines.

Only those who are decisive will be able to enjoy these events, where availability is highly limited with a maximum of 18 guests per night who will all be seated a communal chef’s table. So, be sure to make a reservation in time.

Each individual dinner is priced $110 per evening including wine pairing.
