A Community Tradition: Baoase’s 12th Annual Crab Race on Bida Island

On January 2, 2026, guests, partners, and members of the extended Baoase family gathered on Bida Island Curaçao for the 12th annual Baoase Crab Race Curaçao—a longstanding charity event rooted in community, generosity, and quiet impact.

What began twelve years ago as a small initiative has grown into a tradition that continues to bring people together for a meaningful cause. Through the collective support of everyone involved, this year’s Crab Race raised USD 110,000 (XCG 195,800) in support of local community initiatives across Curaçao.

The afternoon unfolded in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, with guests supporting the crab race, a live auction, and additional donations throughout the event. Auction items included a private Baoase yacht experience, a four-night stay at the resort, and several other curated experiences. Guests also contributed to the Adopt-A-Family Room initiative, created in collaboration with Ronald McDonald House Charities Curaçao, adding an additional layer of impact to the day. Every contribution—large or small—played a role in shaping the spirit of the event.

All proceeds from the Baoase Crab Race Curaçao directly supported the work of The Baoase Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities Curaçao.

Through the Ronald McDonald Family Room at the Curaçao Medical Center, families are able to remain near their children during challenging times, offering comfort and stability when it is needed most.
