On January 2, 2026, guests, partners, and members of the extended Baoase family gathered on Bida Island Curaçao for the 12th annual Baoase Crab Race Curaçao—a longstanding charity event rooted in community, generosity, and quiet impact.

What began twelve years ago as a small initiative has grown into a tradition that continues to bring people together for a meaningful cause. Through the collective support of everyone involved, this year’s Crab Race raised USD 110,000 (XCG 195,800) in support of local community initiatives across Curaçao.

The afternoon unfolded in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, with guests supporting the crab race, a live auction, and additional donations throughout the event. Auction items included a private Baoase yacht experience, a four-night stay at the resort, and several other curated experiences. Guests also contributed to the Adopt-A-Family Room initiative, created in collaboration with Ronald McDonald House Charities Curaçao, adding an additional layer of impact to the day. Every contribution—large or small—played a role in shaping the spirit of the event.

On Sunday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 21, Baoase Luxury Resort Curaçao proudly hosted its very first Mexican theme dining experience. This special event was created in collaboration with renowned Mexican-American chef Esdras Ochoa and Baoase’s very own Executive Chef Oliver Heinrich. Together, they combined authentic Mexican flavors with Baoase’s culinary excellence, turning both evenings into a true fiesta of taste, music, and culture.

Two Nights, Two Experiences

The first evening took place at Sunset Deck Restaurant, where resort guests enjoyed an elegant fine dining experience. Guests were welcomed with festive drinks and authentic Mexican touches, immediately setting the tone for a night full of Latin spirit. A specially curated menu showcased Mexican classics with a refined twist, such as tacos filled with tender meats, rich mole served with poultry, and a fresh ceviche beautifully presented to match the fine dining setting. As the evening continued, the lively sounds of the mariachi band Mariachi Solis filled the air, making the dinner a true cultural celebration.

Two days later, the celebration moved to the magical setting of Bida Island. This evening followed a more walk-and-dine style. Guests mingled around standing tables while waiters served a variety of flavorful Mexican dishes throughout the evening. This created a relaxed yet social atmosphere. The mariachi band Mariachi Solis brought the heart of Mexico to Baoase, before DJ Dionne War took over to lift the night to a higher tempo, inviting everyone to dance, laugh, and celebrate. The evenings combined world-class dining with the joyful spirit of Mexico, leaving guests with memories to cherish.
