CURACAO ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

WELCOME BACK TO CURAÇAO

 

Update May 8th, 2021

On May 8th, the local government decided to relax some of the COVID-19 measures for Curaçao that will apply between May 11th and May 19th, 2021.

To clarify the measures and explain what this would mean for you during a stay with us, we created an overview below:

  • The Curaçao borders and airport remain open, and all other regulations regarding travel to and from Curaçao remain unchanged.
  • Plachi di Dia (number plate days) no longer applies; you can drive every day of the week
  • Outside restaurants and terraces can be open with a 50% occupation and a maximum of 4 persons per table.
  • You are allowed to go to the beach in the morning between 04:30 AM and 09:00 AM, and in the afternoon between 04:30 PM and 07:30 PM.
  • Diving is allowed
  • Restaurants are allowed to do delivery or pick-up until 08:00 PM.
  • Stores, gyms, crossfit and hairdressing salons are open.
  • The curfew has been relaxed to 09:00 PM to 04:30 AM and applies to all residents and visitors.

 

What does this mean for u?

  • At Baoase, you can enjoy all available facilities. Moreover, with the measures that are put in place to control the COVID-19 situation, we organize extra activities at our resort.
  • You can enjoy outside restaurants and terraces on the island until 08:00 PM.
  • Our restaurant and beach will remain open while you enjoy the service that you can expect from us.
  • Any special wishes regarding Food & Beverage can be requested with your personal server.

 

Our In-house protocols will remain the same:

  • Our Baoase team wears face masks.
  • Hand sanitizers can be found throughout the resort.
  • At Baoase we do everything possible to keep an appropriate distance.

Update May 3rd, 2021

On May 3rd, the local government relaxed some of the COVID-19 measures for Curaçao that will apply between May 4th and May 19th. Despite these measures, we would like to emphasize that the Baoase Team is eager to make your stay with us unforgettable!

To clarify the measures and explain what this would mean for you during a stay with us, we created an overview below:

  • The Curaçao borders and airport remain open, and all other regulations regarding travel to and from Curaçao remain unchanged.
  • Outside restaurants and terraces can be open with a 50% occupation and a maximum of 4 persons per table.
  • Restaurants are allowed to do delivery or pick-up until 08:00 PM.
  • The Plachi di Dia is still in effect; this means that cars with a specific number plate are allowed on the road on a specific day
  • The curfew has been relaxed to 09:00 PM to 04:30 AM and applies to all residents and visitors.
  • Locals and visitors are allowed to exercise close to their home or accommodations between 04:30 AM – 08:00 AM and 04:30 PM – 06:00 PM
  • Locals and visitors are allowed to go to the beach and swim between 04:30 AM and 08:00 AM on your number plate day.

 

What does this mean for u?

  • At Baoase, you can enjoy all available facilities. Moreover, with the measures that are put in place to control the COVID-19 situation, we organize extra activities at our resort.
  • You can enjoy outside restaurants and terraces on the island until 08:00 PM. Please be advised that you can only drive on the day that your car has the number plate of the day, or you can take a taxi.
  • Our restaurant and beach will remain open while you enjoy the service that you can expect from us.
  • Any special wishes regarding Food & Beverage can be requested with your personal server.
  • If you need groceries, we can get them for you. You can put in a request via your personal server (+5999 524 1587) or via the Front Office (ext. 1000) when on property.

Update April 20th, 2021

On March 22nd, 2021, the local government announced some adjusted COVID-19 measures for Curaçao that will apply between March 24th, 2021, and May 3rd, 2021. Despite these adjusted measures, we would like to emphasize that the Baoase Team is eager to make your stay with us unforgettable!

To clarify the measures and explain what this would mean for you during a stay with us, we created an overview below:

  • The Curaçao borders and airport remain open, and all other regulations regarding travel to and from Curaçao remain unchanged.
  • Plachi di dia will be introduced; this means that cars with a specific number plate are allowed on the road on a specific day for essentials (like Grocery shopping).
  • The curfew from 07:00 PM to 04:30 AM will continue to apply to all residents and visitors.
  • Locals and visitors are allowed to exercise close to their home or accommodations between 04:30 AM – 08:00 AM and 04:30 PM – 06:00 PM
  • Locals and visitors are allowed to go to the beach and swim between 04:30 AM and 08:00 AM on your number plate day
  • Hotels and resorts will remain open; both residents and guests must adhere to the new measures.

  • Our restaurant and beach will remain open while you enjoy the service that you can expect from us.
  • Any special wishes regarding Food & Beverage can be requested with your personal server.
  • All activities taking place outside of the resort are not available.
  • If you need groceries, we can get them for you. You can put in a request via your personal server (+5999 524 1587) or via the Front Office (ext. 1000) when on property.

Update January 11th 

The number of COVID-19 infections is decreasing and the spread of the virus is under control. Therefore, Curaçao reopened its borders and eliminated the maximum of 20.000 passengers per month who are allowed to visit Curaçao. Moreover, the COVID-19 measures on the island have been relaxed.

Update December 9th

The Ministry of Foreign Affaires of the Netherlands adjusted the travel advice for Curaçao from ‘yellow’ to ‘orange’. This means that the advice is given not to travel to our beautiful island and that if you do decide to travel there will be certain extra measures in place like an extra PCR test and self-quarantine when returning home, even if you do not have any COVID-19 symptoms.

Update November 3rd

Alleen reizen naar Caribisch Nederland deze winter toegestaan
Zeker tot half januari geeft het Nederlandse Kabinet het dringende advies om niet naar het buitenland te reizen tot half januari, alleen naar het veilige Caribisch Nederland. Het zonnige Caribisch deel van Nederland geldt niet als buitenland en daarvoor geldt het negatieve reisadvies niet. Tenzij het eiland de code oranje of rood heeft gekregen.

Het zonnige eiland Curacao met een code geel blijft dus gewoon toegankelijk voor toeristen uit Nederland, ook in de kerstvakantie.

Update October 19th

More than 50 countries are allowed to enter Curaçao as of the 19th of October.

Update 6 October

As of October 6th, 2020, citizens from Canada, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut (Tri-state area) are now allowed to travel to and from Curaçao.
The first flights to Curaçao are scheduled on the following travel dates:

Saturdays and Wednesdays

AIR CANADA from YYZ, Toronto

Prior to arrival, all visitors must present:

  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result:
    • The traveler must have done a PCR test max. 72 hours prior to their flight.
    • The PCR test result must be negative in order to travel.
    • The traveler must have the PCR test results printed when traveling.
    • The airline will control the test results prior to boarding.
  • A Digital Immigration Card, available at https://dicardcuracao.com/portal, and upload their negative results to the portal
  • A Passenger Locator Card (PLC)
    • The traveler must fill in a ‘Passenger Location Card’ (PLC) digitally, within 48 hours prior to departure
    • The traveler must have a copy of the PLC printed when traveling.
    • The traveler must not have traveled to a high-risk country, and if they have, they must go into mandatory quarantine.
    • The traveler must fill in and sign the form to the best of their ability and truthfully
  • Residents of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut must present a valid state-issued ID as proof of residence.

 

Update July 1st

In connection to opening the borders to Western European countries, the Government of Curaçao has released the approved list of countries that are allowed entry into Curaçao as of June 29, 2020. The list of approved countries is divided into medium risk countries and low risk countries.

 

As communicated earlier this month, before entering Curaçao, the traveler must comply with certain conditions such as:

PCR Test

  • The traveler must have done a PCR test max. 72 hours prior to their flight.
  • The PCR test result must be negative in order to travel.
  • The traveler must have the PCR test results printed when traveling.
  • The airline will control the test results prior to boarding.

PLC Form

  • The traveler must fill in a ‘Passenger Location Card’ (PLC) digitally before traveling.
  • The traveler must have a copy of the PLC printed when traveling.
  • The traveler must not have traveled to a high-risk country, and if they have, they must go into mandatory quarantine.
  • The traveler must fill in and sign the form to the best of their ability and truthfully.

Other Conditions

  • The traveler must agree with all the stipulated conditions of the Government of Curaçao in order to travel to and enter Curaçao.
  • The traveler must agree that all medical costs, quarantine costs and/or isolation will be at their own costs.
